When need comes one knows one's friend. A friend in need is a friend indeed

Hik hik, I've found this French proverb, "When need comes one knows one's friend. A friend in need is a friend indeed" that is in French "Au besoin on connaï l'ami.". For me, it is not easy to find true friends, right?  when we are in difficulty, the true friend is the one that help and find us. what about you all? Do you all have any ideas? Please feel free to give some idea about this proverb.
